those settings on the shots were not real. in such daylight and iso100 f2.x and 1/250 or 1/160 you will have everything lit.

Thank you for the video. What magic arm do you use with this? I'd like to use it with a phone mount to turn my Android phone into a field monitor. Would you have a recommendation on how to get an additional 6-7 ft height? I'm trying to build an affordable setup to record my kid’s sporting events. I'm struggling to find a monopod (or something similar) that screws directly to the head of a tripod. Any advice you can share would be awesome. Thank you!

Thank you! This softbox just arrived today and I wasn't sure how to mount the S-bracket lol.

This type of setup is actually very portable and perfect for travel. I have one like this although not the Godox brand (mine is generic) but the softox folds up into a small ball basically about the size of a soup bowl. Mine S-bracket, flash and portable flash stand all fit into a carry-on bag, making them the best portable one-light setup. Of course the light stand I use is not great for outdoor use in windy conditions but it's portable and good for indoor shoots. Would strongly recommend something like this if you need something portable or are starting out as you can get these types of softboxes for $30 or less probably.

I got the 24-70 2.8 for its IS so useful for videos where I don't want to carry a gimbal all the time, if this had IS then for sure I'd have got it

I went for the 1.4 purely to let in more light, I have only used it at 5.6 for added sharpness and will be using it at f1.4 soon for Astro work.

Hi how I can shoot 10 bit on Canon eos r5 without shooting in clog mode?

I just used it for a 12 hour wedding day, but I have the extended grip on my R5 and I don’t use any form of strap and it was fine, but I pretty much found myself using it with my left hand cupping the lens and holding it that way most of the time, which I kind end up doing when shooting anyway because I’m working the zoom. But also hit the gym. What we do is pretty physical so it’s probably important. If you’re having difficulty with a 3 pound lens then pumping a few dumbbells might help in that regard.

Works great, has all the same features as the Canon grip, and is about $200 cheaper than the Canon grip on Amazon!

Thank you Trent. I was on the fence about getting this lens. Initially, I loved the idea. I was able to use it during an event and was not quite impressed by what I saw. Not enough difference from the EF 24-70mm F2.8 to warrant the punishment from the increased SIZE and Weight and the LOSS of 24mm wide end. I looked everywhere for examples of the special prime look to make me think otherwise. No luck. I picked up 24-105 instead for video and studio work. Plenty sharp, stabilized and excellent range, weight, size. I have primes and 2 camera bodies if I need to switch between them super fast.

Would you recommend it for indoor college volleyball with the R3 - or would you say go with the 24-105 or 24-70? Thanks, great video.

Hi Trent, quick question I have RF 85 F1.2 and thinking of switching to 28-70. I mainly shoot portraits and weddings. I will be switching towards to hybrid to filmmaker. Do you think I should switch my 85 to 28-70? I already own the 15-35 & 70-200 F2.8. I currently have R6. Looking forward for your response
